One of many iconic views along the 469-mile length of the Blue Ridge Parkway is Mabry Mill, located near milepost 176 in the Meadows of Dan, Virginia, section of the Parkway. In its early life, between 1910 and the mid-1930s, mountain families brought their corn to be ground into meal at the grist mill owned and operated by E. B. Mabry. Much later, the mill was restored by the Park Service, and visitors can now observe the mill operating much as it did in its heyday.
