Well over half my life has been spent in the northwestern NC mountains. From Mitchell to Grandfather, Clingman's Dome to Washington, plus innumerable named and unnamed others in between, I love our eastern mountains. I also love the breathtakingly higher, more rugged peaks of the Rockies, rising as they often do without aid (or view obstruction) of foothills. Mountains are in my blood, I think . . . and yet, I am also somehow drawn strongly to lighthouses.
